This 2 in 1 steel Petromax bowl can be used either as a griddle or firebowl depending on what you need. It comes with detachable steel legs ensuring its both easy to carry and store and that it provides a stable firebowl / cooking surface on any terrain. The bowl comes in two sizes: large 56cm and medium 48cm.
 
As a griddle:  Stand the bowl above your fire and use it as a hotplate. You can cook directly on the surface or place you cooking pan on top. The center becomes hotter than the edge, thus steaks, bakery produce and so on can be kept warm, while vegetables are still frying in the middle. The pan can also be used without legs directly on the Petromax Atago stove. 
 
Before using it for the first time, the griddle must be seasoned, so that a patina forms at each use, making it naturally non-stick.
 
The 56cm size is large enough to cook meals for 6-8 people and the 48cm for upto 3 people.
 
 
As a firebowl: The bowl also makes a great firebowl, keeping your fire safely off the ground. The three legged design is very stable. 
 
Stackable: You can even stack the smaller 48cm version of the grill/firebowl on top of the larger 56cm using the lower one as firebowl and upper one as grill!
 
Instructions for seasoning your Griddle
 
Outside: Make sure that you only season your griddle outdoors
Oiling: Cover the base of the griddle with a highly temperature vegetable fat or cooking oil.
Heating and salting: Place the griddle over your fire. Once hot, add a generous amount of salt.
Spread: Stir the oil and salt mixture occasionally and spread it evenly over the entire surface. When the frying surface darkens, the typical patina has formed.
Cool and clean: Remove the pan from the heat and leave to cool. Rinse it with hot water and carefully remove any residue with a cloth. Dry the bowl thoroughly and oil it again.
Repeat the process: Repeat the oiling process two more times. For best results, we recommend the Petromax care paste for cast and wrought iron.
Your griddle is now ready for use!
